Communicate like a professional
- Be clear about who you are, what you do and what you need.
- Reply to people you have contacted, even if the answer is no.
- Respect a no. Repeated contact after someone declines is harassment.
No harassment or discrimination
- No threats, intimidation, sexual harassment or abusive language.
- No discrimination or exclusion based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic.
- Criticism of work is fine. Attacks on a person are not.
Be who you say you are
- No impersonating another person, artist, engineer, studio or brand.
- No fake credentials, fabricated qualifications or invented career history.
- No misleading portfolios. Do not present work you did not do, and describe your role honestly when the work was collaborative.
- Only claim a business you are actually authorised to represent.
No scams or fraud
- No advance-fee requests, fake deposits, cheque overpayment schemes or 'pay to be considered' offers.
- No pressure to move a conversation off-platform in order to avoid accountability.
- FindRecording never processes payments. Treat any request framed as a FindRecording payment as fraudulent and report it.
No spam or solicitation abuse
- No bulk identical messages, mass request responses, or pitches unrelated to what someone asked for.
- No recruitment spam, crypto or investment pitches, or link farming.
- Keep listings and profiles free of keyword stuffing and repeated duplicate posts.
Protect people's privacy and safety
- No doxxing. Do not publish someone's home address, personal phone number, private email, documents or any other private information.
- Do not share the contents of a private conversation publicly to shame someone.
- No sexually exploitative content, no content involving minors, and no illegal services of any kind.
Honest reviews only
- Review only people and businesses you actually interacted with on FindRecording.
- No paid, traded, incentivised or self-written reviews.
- No retaliatory reviews and no review bombing.
What happens when guidelines are broken
Reports are reviewed by our team. Depending on what we find we may edit or remove content, unpublish a profile or listing, remove a verification, restrict messaging, or suspend an account. Serious cases may be reported to the relevant authorities.
