Before you file
Much of the audio, photography and portfolio material on FindRecording is uploaded by users. If you believe something published here infringes your copyright, send us a notice using the details below.
What your notice must include
Send the notice to findrecording@gmail.com with "Copyright notice" in the subject line.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The exact URL or URLs on findrecording.com where the material appears.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What we do
We review complete notices and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material and notify the user who posted it. Incomplete notices may be returned to you for more detail.
Counter-notice
Send counter-notices to findrecording@gmail.com with "Copyright counter-notice" in the subject line.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Identification of the material removed and the location where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live, or, if outside the United States, of a court where FindRecording may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright are suspended or removed.
Misuse
Knowingly filing a false notice can carry legal consequences. If you are unsure whether a use is infringing, take legal advice first.
