How verification works

FindRecording is a discovery and connection platform. A verified badge tells you we confirmed who someone is — not how good they are. Here is exactly what that means.

The five listing states

Unclaimed: A listing compiled from publicly available information. Nobody connected to the business or person has taken control of it yet. Details may be out of date, and FindRecording has no relationship with them.
Claimed: Someone has signed in, claimed the listing and can now edit it. Claiming proves that a FindRecording account controls the listing. It does not, on its own, prove the person is who they say they are.
Verification pending: The owner has asked us to verify the listing and our review team has the request in the queue. Nothing about the listing changes while it waits.
Verified: Our review team has completed the checks described below. The listing shows a verified badge.
Suspended: The listing broke our Community Guidelines or Acceptable Use policy, or an unresolved report is open against it. It is hidden from public discovery while we look into it.

What we check before marking a listing verified

That the person or business claiming the listing controls an official contact route for it — a business email address on the listing's own domain, the phone number published on the listing, or an account named on the official website.
That the website, social profiles and location details on the listing point to the same real, currently operating person or business.
That the listing's name, category and description match what that person or business actually does.
That the listing does not impersonate someone else and is not a duplicate of another listing.

What verification does not mean

A verified badge is an identity check and nothing more. FindRecording does not review, endorse, guarantee or take responsibility for any of the following:

The quality of anyone's work, recordings, mixes, performances or productions.
Qualifications, credentials, licences, union membership or professional certifications.
Insurance, safety, legal compliance, or the condition of any room or equipment.
Pricing, availability, deadlines, or whether someone will deliver what they promise.
Background checks of any kind on any person.

Do your own due diligence before committing to work, sharing files, travelling to a location or sending money. FindRecording does not process payments or hold bookings, and is not a party to any agreement you make with another user.

Requesting verification

Claim your listing or publish your profile first, then request verification from your dashboard. Our review team works through requests in the order they arrive and will contact you at your account email if we need anything else. If we cannot confirm identity we leave the listing claimed rather than verified, and you can request verification again once you can supply an official contact route.

Reporting a problem

If a listing looks inaccurate, impersonates someone or breaks our rules, use the report control on that page. Reports go straight to the review team and the person you report is not told who submitted it. Read our Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use policy for what we act on, or contact us directly.
