Terms of Service

By using FindRecording you agree to these terms. Please read them — they describe what the platform does and what it does not do.

What FindRecording is

FindRecording is a discovery and connection platform for the recording world. People and businesses publish profiles and listings, post requests, and message each other directly.

FindRecording does not take bookings, process payments, hold funds, take commissions or act as an intermediary in any agreement. Any arrangement you make with another user is between you and that user.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
  • One person or business per account. Do not share or transfer your account.

Accurate information

Profiles, listings, requests and responses must be truthful. Do not misstate your identity, credentials, experience, rates, location, ownership of a business, or the work in your portfolio.

Public profiles and listings

Anything you publish is visible to the public and may be indexed by search engines. Some listings on FindRecording are compiled from publicly available information and are unclaimed; an unclaimed listing does not imply any relationship with the business named.

Claiming a listing or requesting verification requires evidence and is reviewed by us. We may decline or reverse a claim or verification at any time.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you publish. By publishing it on FindRecording you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. This licence ends when you remove the content, except for copies retained in backups or moderation records.

You must have the rights to everything you upload, including photos, audio, portfolio work and logos.

Messaging, requests and responses

  • Messaging is for genuine professional contact related to recording work.
  • Requests must describe something you actually need. Responses must be relevant to the request.
  • Do not use messaging for bulk marketing, recruitment spam or unsolicited sales.
  • We may review messages when investigating a report.

Reviews

Reviews can only be left after a real interaction on the platform, and every review is checked before it appears. Reviews must be honest first-hand experience. Incentivised, traded or retaliatory reviews are not allowed.

Prohibited conduct

  • Impersonating another person, business or FindRecording itself.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination.
  • Scams, fraud, advance-fee schemes and misleading offers.
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging and solicitation abuse.
  • Publishing another person's private information.
  • Illegal services, sexually exploitative content, or content involving minors.
  • Scraping, automated data collection, or attempting to bypass access controls or security.

Intellectual property

The FindRecording name, logo, design and software are ours. You may not copy or reuse them without permission. Copyright complaints are handled through our copyright policy.

Third-party links

Profiles, listings and guides may link to external websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.

Availability

We work to keep FindRecording available, but the service is provided as-is. Features may change, and the platform may be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

Suspension and termination

We may unpublish content, suspend an account or end access if these terms, our community guidelines or our acceptable use policy are broken, or where needed to protect other users. You can stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time.

Disclaimers

FindRecording does not guarantee the accuracy of any profile, listing, request, claim or review, and does not guarantee that you will find or be found by anyone. We are not a party to arrangements between users and are not responsible for work performed, payments made, or disputes that arise between them. Do your own checks before engaging someone.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, FindRecording is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform or from your dealings with other users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts located there.
